Chapter 6 – Version 6.5
Version 6.5 offers new features, enhancements to functionality, resolution of
discovered software problems, and improvements in using Mercator products.
Significant changes introduced in Version 6.5 are described in the following
sections.
Large File Support
The transformation engine includes an enhancement to allow for mapping to and
from large data files that exceed 2 Gigabytes in size.
Note Any file within a single burst is still limited to a maximum size of 4
Gigabytes. So, effectively, inputs are still limited to 1 Gigabyte per burst to
allow for a workfile size of up to four times data size.
Language Support for Latin1
To provide support for multiple character sets. This will address issues such as the
UPPERCASE function to convert: ö (F6), ä (E4), å (E5), and allow them to appear
as: Ö (D6), Ä (C4), Å (C5).
Expanded Standard Date Formats for International
To include European date formats in the drop down menu of the Type Designer to
be recognized and processed like other standard dates. These should include
DDMMCCYY and DDMMYY.
