Initial Installation or Complete Reinstallation
15. Execute dce_config by entering this command at the OSS shell prompt:
/etc/dce_config -h hostname
where hostname is the hostname to use for the new installation.
The dce_config utility displays this menu:
16. Select option 1 (INSTALL).
The dce_config utility requests the location of your pax files by issuing the
following prompt:
Enter the location of the NonStop DCE pax files
(e.g. /G/volume/subvolume):
17. Enter the Guardian location of the NonStop DCE ISV or TSV in OSS format. For
example, to represent the Guardian subvolume $VOL.ZDCE, enter /G/vol/zdce.
If a new installation is being performed and another DCE installation already exists,
the dce_config utility displays this prompt:
Do you want to clone (share binaries) with another existing
host[y/n]?(n)
where the character shown in parentheses is the default response if you press
Return.
18. Enter n if a new set of binary files needs to be installed in the new virtual host.
Enter y if the binary files and other read-only files of the new virtual host can be
installed as virtual links to the existing virtual host.
If you enter y, you are prompted for the hostname of the existing virtual host:
Following are the DCE hosts installed:
hostname1 hostname2 ...
Select one:
19. Enter the hostname of the virtual host that has binary files and read-only files to be
shared with the new installation.
DCE Main Menu ( on hostname )
1. INSTALL -install dce software
2. CONFIGURE -configure and start DCE daemons
3. START -re-start DCE daemons
4. STOP -stop DCE daemons
5. UNCONFIGURE -remove a host from CDS and SEC databases
6. REMOVE -stop DCE daemons and remove data files
created by DCE daemons
7. UNINSTALL -uninstall self DCE host
