Initial Installation or Complete Reinstallation
If an existing installation is being replaced and another virtual host shares binary
and read-only files with the installation being replaced, a prompt similar to the
following is displayed:
Following are the clone(s) for hostname:
hostname2 hostname3 ...
Do you want to upgrade them [y/n]?(n)
where the character shown in parentheses is the default response if you press
Return.
20. To install new files for all the clones indicated, enter y. To install new files only for
the replacement installation, enter n.
If you enter y, all clones must have been stopped to stop use of the SRL (TNS
DCE) or user library (TNS/R and TNS/E DCE). If any process has the SRL or user
library open, this error message appears:
ERROR: At least one process using the srl
/G/SYSTEM/ZDCE/LDCE1 is running. Installation will not
continue. Please shutdown and restart dce_config
Press <RETURN> to continue, CTRL-C to exit:
21. After exiting the dce_config utility, return to Step 5 of this procedure and perform
all subsequent steps carefully.
The dce_config utility displays the installation menu:
22. At the prompt, enter one or more selections separated by spaces.
You can install all NonStop DCE software by selecting options 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7,
regardless of the intended configuration. This action is useful when the machine
might be reconfigured many times and requires less time to link binary files than if
you keep returning to this menu to select options one at a time.
