13. Exit dce_config by selecting option 99 from the main menu.
14. Run the Pcleanup utility to remove any obsolete files (such as older reference
pages) by entering these commands at an OSS shell prompt:
cd /etc/install_obsolete
Pcleanup -r source
15. Return to the main menu in the dce_config utility by entering this OSS shell
command:
dce_config -h hostname
where hostname is the name of the virtual host installation being updated.
16. Restart the NonStop DCE demons by selecting option 3 (START).
Installed Files
During installation, the dce_config utility creates the DCE directory hierarchy if
necessary and copies pax archive files there. The DCE binary files are copied into the
/opt/dcelocal.hostname/bin directory. The dce_config scripts are copied to
the /opt/dcelocal.hostname/etc and /etc directories.
The message catalog files are copied into standard OSS directories and also to the
NonStop DCE directory, /opt/dcelocal.hostname. Similarly, reference pages (if
requested) are copied directly to their standard OSS directories.
A shared run-time library (TNS DCE) or user library (TNS/R and TNS/E DCE) is copied
to /G/system/zdce/ldce or to an alternate location in the Guardian file system
specified by the shell variable TANDEM_ALT_SRL. See DCE Library on page 3-15 for a
possible side effect of this installation.
/usr/lib can contain only one copy of the application development environment
(ADE) component archive file libdce_scs.a. See Application Development
Environment (ADE) on page 3-16 for help in preserving older copies.
Beginning with the D48 product version, all types of installation create an installation
state file and a configuration state file. These files are used by the virtual host feature.
The installation state file is created as /etc/dceinsttab, and the configuration state
file is created as /etc/dceconftab.
dcelocal Directories and Files
The directories and files listed in Table 3-2 are created in the OSS file system during
installation.
