Configuring the Initial Security Server
(pwd_strengthd), auditing server (auditd), and global time servers are not
replicated.
If the original configuration is for a client, the replicated configuration also provides
a client. If the original configuration is for a CDS server, the replicated configuration
provides an additional CDS server.
The DCE Configuration menu is displayed:
8. Select option 1 (Initial Cell Configuration).
The Initial Cell Configuration menu is displayed:
9. Select options one at a time in the indicated order:
a. Configuring the Initial Security Server on page 4-6
b. Configuring the Initial Cell Directory Service (CDS) Server on page 4-8
c. Configuring the Initial DTS Server on page 4-9
d. Configuring DCED as Endpoint Mapper on page 4-10
Do not attempt to configure a CDS server or DTS server until a security server has
been successfully initialized within the cell.
Configuring the Initial Security Server
Repeat this procedure for each virtual host in the cell:
1. Select option 1 (Initial Security Server) from the Initial Cell Configuration menu.
This prompt appears:
Do you wish to first remove all remnants of
previous DCE configurations for all components (y/n)?
You should do so only if you plan on re-configuring
as a client of a different cell: (n)
