DCE Client Configuration
New or additional instances of the CDS server (cdsd), DTS server (dtsd),
and security server (secd)
When you configure an additional CDS server, the last step in the process requires
you to indicate whether the complete CDS namespace of an existing CDS server
should be duplicated in the newly created clearinghouse:
Should all directories be replicated [y/n]? (n)
where the character shown in parentheses is the default response if you press
Return.
3. Enter one of the following:
Enter y to duplicate the entire clearinghouse of the copied configuration and
end the procedure.
Enter n to leave the new clearinghouse empty.
If you enter n, this prompt is displayed:
Should more directories be replicated? (n)
Enter one of the following:
Enter n to end the procedure.
Enter y, which produces this prompt:
Enter the list of directories to be replicated,
separated by spaces, and terminated by <RETURN>:
Enter the pathnames of the desired directories.
DCE Client Configuration
To add a NonStop virtual host to an existing cell, you must first configure the virtual
host must as a DCE client machine. A DCE client machine must register itself with both
the master security server and the master CDS server. This configuration is the
minimum configuration required for DCE interoperability.
To configure a virtual host as a DCE client machine:
1. At a TACL prompt, log on as the super ID (255, 255).
2. Start an OSS shell by entering this command at a TACL prompt:
OSH
3. Set the DCEVH environment variable by entering:
export DCEVH=hostname
where hostname is the hostname assigned to the virtual host.
