DCE Client Configuration
4. Run /etc/dce_config to display the main menu:
5. Select option 2 (CONFIGURE). The DCE configuration menu appears.
6. Select option 3 (DCE Client). This prompt appears:
Do you wish to first remove all remnants of
previous DCE configurations for all components (y/n)?
You should do so only if you plan on re-configuring
as a client of a different cell: (n)
where the character in parentheses is the default response if you press Return.
7. Enter y if there are previous configuration files to remove.
This prompt is displayed:
Enter the name of your cell (without /.../):
8. Enter the name of the previously existing cell. (For example,
cellname.xyz.com). If you do not know the cell’s name, enter the following
command from an OSS shell prompt on any configured machine within that cell:
dcecp -c cell show
This prompt appears:
Enter the name of the DCE privuser: (SUPER.SUPER)
where the characters in parentheses are the default response if you press Return.
9. Enter the Guardian user ID permitted to administer NonStop DCE on this system.
Refer to Being the DCE Privuser on page 6-3 for information on which user is
permitted to perform specific dce_config actions.
The user ID you enter must be a member of the super group.
If you do not enter the super ID, dce_config stops and you must log in as the
specified ID to complete the DCE client machine configuration. For example, if you
specify SUPER.DCE, you must perform these additional steps:
a. Use the exit command to stop the OSS shell.
b. Log in again as the DCE privuser SUPER.DCE.
c. Repeat Steps 2 through 9 of this procedure.
