location, and if some application programs using the DCE library have not been
replaced by this reinstallation, link those programs to the new library location:

For a TNS virtual host, enter commands similar to the following example for the
program file /bin/dce_usr_program, at an OSS shell or dcecp prompt:
gtacl -p bind
@select filesys oss
@change library $vol.zdce.ldce in /bin/dce_usr_program
@exit

For a TNS/R or TNS/E virtual host, enter a command similar to the following
example for the program file /bin/dce_usr_program, at an OSS shell or
dcecp prompt:
TNS/R host (non-PIC program):
nld -change libname \$SYSTEM.ZDCE4.LDCE /bin/dce_usr_program
TNS/R host (PIC program):
ld -change libname \$SYSTEM.ZDCE4.LDCE /bin/dce_usr_program
TNS/E host:
eld -change libname \$SYSTEM.ZDCE4.LDCE /bin/dce_usr_program
where $SYSTEM.ZDCE4.LDCE contains the correct user library to be linked to
the application program.
9. Where possible, update programs that are copies of software supplied by HP by
recopying them. For example, a copy of dcecp might have been placed in /bin
for convenience, but /bin/dcecp is not replaced during installation of
NonStop DCE. In this case, make a fresh copy of the file from the new file
/opt/dcelocal/bin/dcecp.
When a Cell Component Does Not Restart
1. Check the appropriate log file for error messages about the failed component. For
example, from a dcecp prompt, enter:
tail /opt/dcelocal.hostname/var/svc/fatal.log
tail /opt/dcelocal.hostname/var/dced/dced.log
tail /opt/dcelocal.hostname/var/security/secd.log
If serviceability routing has been customized, the fatal.log file might be in a
different location. See DCE Serviceability Messages on page 7-9.
As an example, if dcecp or another program is already running when dced is
restarted, this type of message is logged:
/etc: tail /opt/dcelocal.hostname/var/svc/fatal.log
