Command Function Performed
CLOSE Closes current name manager.
DISABLE EXPORT Disables exports to nodes.
ENABLE EXPORT Enables exports to system(s).
INITIALIZE DNS Installs DNS on node and initializes DNS configuration files.
OPEN Opens (begins communication with) name manager process.
START DNS Executes a DNS configuration on specified node.
STATUS EXPORT Displays operational status of the export mechanism.
STATUS DNS Displays operational status of DNS.
STOP DNS Terminates execution of DNS in orderly way.

Command Function Performed
ALLOW Specifies the maximum number of warnings or errors that may occur
during command execution.
ASSUME Specifies default object to which all ADD, SET, SHOW, and RESET
commands refer.
CMDSYS Sets default system name for file references.
CMDVOL Sets default volume and subvolume names for file references.
ENV Displays current DNSCOM environment: current name manager,
default name type, and system and volume/subvolume for command,
obey, and name.
EXIT Causes DNSCOM to stop processing commands from current input
file.
FC Allows user to edit or repeat a command line.
HELP Displays syntax of DNSCOM commands.
NAMESYS Sets the default system name for name references.
NAMEVOL Sets default volume and subvolume names for SSMANAGER and
SSOBJECT references.
OBEY Causes DNSCOM to read commands from specified OBEY file.
OBEYSYS Sets default system name for expansion of OBEY file names.
OBEYVOL Sets default volume and subvolume names for expansion of OBEY file
names.
OUT Directs output to specified device or disk file.
RESELECT Terminates use of definition mode.
RESET ALIAS Restores default values to the alias attributes.
RESET ALIASTYPE Restores default values to the alias type attributes.
