DELETE ALIAS The DELETE ALIAS command purges alias names and their definitions from the DNS
database. Only aliases previously added on the local system may be deleted.

may be omitted if
alias
is unique in the command name manager’s database, or
if ON

is specified.
alias
is the name of an alias to be deleted.
ALIAS *
means that all aliases in the command name manager’s database (or in the
specified group) are to be included for deletion.
group
is the name of a group. When specified, only aliases that are members of the
group are included for deletion.
alias type
*
means that all aliases of the specified type on the local system (or within a
specified group) are to be deleted.

is a system or name manager where the command is to be executed. If omitted,
the current name manager is assumed.

is a Guardian 90 system name. It designates a node other than the
current system for processing the command.
name manager
designates a
configuration other than the current one.

If present, DNSCOM does not prompt for confirmation before deleting each name.
If omitted, DNSCOM prompts for confirmation. At each prompt, you have the
following options: retain the alias, delete the alias, delete all remaining aliases
specified by the delete expression, or abort the command.
