Distributed Name Service (DNS) Management Operations Manual
DELETE SSOBJECT
The DNSCOM Commands
31258 Tandem Computers Incorporated 7–93
of
ssobject type
defined by any subsystem are included; in this case, the name
of the subsystem-object type is included (in parentheses) for deletion, following
the name of the subsystem object.
{ \
system
|
name manager
}
is a system or name manager where the command is to be executed. If omitted,
the current name manager is assumed.
!
If present, DNSCOM does not prompt for confirmation before deleting each name.
If omitted, DNSCOM prompts for confirmation. At each prompt, you have the
following options: retain the subsystem-object name, delete the subsystem-object
name, delete all remaining subsystem-object names specified by the delete
expression, or abort the command.
Examples
DELETE TERM1 !
DELETE * UNDER TEST_SYSTEM AT \TESTSYS
DELETE SERVER * UNDER $RDS
DELETE SSOBJECT NEWYORK
Considerations
Deleting a subsystem object automatically deletes any aliases for the object.
If you attempt to delete a subsystem object that is a component of a composite
object, DNSCOM issues an error message, and the object is not deleted.
