STOP DNS The STOP DNS command stops a DNS configuration.

may be omitted if the default object is DNS.

is a system or name manager where the command is to be executed. If omitted,
the current name manager is assumed.

is a Guardian 90 system name. It designates a node other than the
current system for processing the command.
name manager
designates a
configuration other than the current one.
!
indicates that DNS should stop as quickly as possible. When this form is used, the
name manager finishes processing any requests that it is working on. As each is
request completed, the task processing the request stops. Subsequent requests
issued prior to the time that the name manager stops are rejected with a file error
indicating that the device is unavailable to processes requests.
WAIT OFF
specifies that DNSCOM should not wait for quiescence, but should return the
DNSCOM prompt (DNSCOM_) for additional user input. This is the default
setting.
WAIT ON
specifies that DNSCOM should not return the DNSCOM prompt until all DNS
processes have ceased activity.
