This appendix describes the error and warning messages issued by DNSCOM.
Error 1 ERROR 1 - Name Manager Does Not Support this Command
The current name manager is at a lower release level than the DNSCOM being used
and does not support the command just issued.
Error 2 ERROR 2 - Name Already Has an Alias of Type aliastype
An attempt to add a typed ALIAS failed because the specified REFERENT already has
an ALIAS of the type indicated by aliastype .
Warning 3 WARNING 3 - Duplicate Component - sstype
The indicated sstype is a duplicate or subset of one of the COMPONENTS already
specified.
Error 4 ERROR 4 - Name Already Exists - name
The current ADD or ALTER command failed because it requested the addition of a
name ( name ) that already exists in the DNS database.
Error 5 ERROR 5 - Duplicate Subsystem Number - number
The current ADD SS command failed because the specified OWNER already defines a
subsystem with the indicated SSNUM ( number ).
Error 6 ERROR 6 - Duplicate Type Number - number
The current ADD ALIASTYPE or ADD COMPOSITETYPE failed because the specified
OWNER already defines an ALIASTYPE or COMPOSITETYPE with the indicated
TYPENUM ( number ).
Error 7 ERROR 7 - Command Not Valid for Specified Name Type
The current command failed because the name manager does not support the
command when applied to the specified name type.
