If you want the copied name definition reflected throughout the system, you must
directly alter the definition node’s version when that node becomes available, just as
you would globally change a name definition under normal circumstances.
See “Selecting a Naming Strategy” and “Uniqueness of Names: Parts of a DNS Name”
in Section 4 for more information on the definition node.
Error Recovery:
Reloading the DNS
Database
If it is necessary for any reason to reload a DNS database, names must be loaded in the
order listed below. “Name Dependencies and Relationships” in Section 4 provides
details about creating DNS names in the proper order.
1. Domain and subsystem names, in either order
2. Subsystem-object type names
3. Alias type, composite type, and manager names, in any order
4. Subsystem-object names
5. Alias and composite names, in either order
6. Group names
To automatically reinitialize and load a DNS database, you can use the following
command:
DNSCOM INFO / OUT
file name
/ *, OBEYFORM
DNSCOM / IN
file name
/
This produces a file that completely reinitializes and loads a DNS database.
