DNS Error Numbers and Error Lists
D–4 046958 Tandem Computers Incorporated
25: ZDNS-ERR-LAST-
SUBSYSTEM
A response to an attempt to delete the last subsystem for a subsystem manager. A
simple error list is returned.
26: ZDNS-ERR-LAST-
SYSTEM
A response to an ALTER request that deleted the last system in a domain. A simple
error list is returned.
27:ZDNS-ERR-NOGROUPS A response to an INFO request that included a “-GROUP” variant parameter and the
subject of the command was not a member of any group. A simple error list is
returned.
28: ZDNS-ERR-
EMPTYRESP
A response to an INFO request that contained a context token and no response is in
the buffer. (The lack of a context token indicates there are no more responses.) There
is no associated error list.
29: ZDNS-ERR-
NOSSTYPES
A response to an INFO request that included a “-SSTYPE” variant parameter and the
subject of the command was not related to any subsystem-object types. A simple error
list is returned.
30: ZDNS-ERR-NOTFOUND The name manager is unable to locate a name specified in a request parameter. A
standard DNS error list is returned, referring to the field containing the name. Note
that in many cases, this error is returned when no name is found that matches the type
expected. For example, a field of type ZDNS-DDL-DOMAIN is expected to contain
the name of a domain. If such a field contains D where there is no domain called D,
thenZDNS-ERR-NOTFOUND is returned, regardless of whether there exists a group
or composite called D.
32:ZDNS-ERR-NOTRANSID A response to an update request where DNS is configured to use TMF and the
requester did not have a valid TMF transaction ID. A simple error list is included.
33: ZDNS-ERR-MISSING-
PARAM
A response to a request that did not include a required parameter. The response
buffer contains a standard DNS error list indicating the token code of the missing
parameter.
34:ZDNS-ERR-
REMOTENAME
A response to a request to alter the DOMAIN attribute of a remotely defined name.
The response buffer contains a standard DNS error list referring to the domain field in
the request parameter.
35: ZDNS-ERR-REQD-
FIELD
The null value was supplied for a field that requires a non-null value. The response
buffer contains a standard DNS error list referring to the field in error.
36: ZDNS-ERR-ROUTE-ERR A response to a request that specifies an SSID for a subsystem other than DNS. The
name manager initializes the response buffer using the DNS SSID prior to returning
this error number. There is a simple error list included in the response.
37: ZDNS-ERR-TAKEOVER The primary process has failed during an update transaction. The requester should
call ABORTTRANSACTION, then resubmit the request. There is a simple error list
included in the response.
