Distributed Nodes Handle Events for All Other
Nodes
b. Continue the SYSGENR phase until you receive this prompt:
3. From another terminal, prepare the SYSGENR CONFTEXT file for the central
node. You change the CONFTEXT file instead of the CONFAUX file so changes
are preserved for subsequent runs of DSM/SCM.
a. Compare the files in the ZTEMPL installation subvolume to the CONFAUX file
for the central node. In the CONFAUX file, check the EMS formatting templates
in the TANDEM^FORMATTER^TEMPLATES^FILES installation descriptor.
Print a list of the files if needed.
b. If any of the ZTEMPL files are not included in this installation descriptor, add
them to the SYSGENR CONFTEXT file. Include the template object files for all
nodes that the central node supports. If you are not sure which files to include,
add all of the files in the ZTEMPL subvolume that start with a
Z
(file code 844).
The files that start with Z are all template object files.
4. From the original terminal, enter y to continue the DSM/SCM program, and install
the software on the central node.
5. Install the new software on the distributed nodes using the CONFTEXT file meant
for each node. In other words, do not use the conglomerate CONFTEXT file for the
distributed nodes.
Distributed Nodes Handle Events for All Other Nodes
To have distributed nodes handle the events from any of the other distributed nodes,
create a conglomerate nonresident template file to be used on all nodes that share
events with each other. This file will contain all of the templates needed to interpret
events from any of these nodes.
The CONFAUX file has been built. If changes need to be made, and/or if
custom protocols and/or drivers need to be built, do so at another
terminal.
When modifying the CONFAUX file, be careful not to alter the sequence of
entries in the TANDEM^LIBRARY^CODE^FILES paragraph; operating system
efficiency depends on the order in which the system code and system
library spaces are built from these files.
When changes (if any) are complete, enter “Y”.
