Subsystems
Some utilities (BACKUP, DISKGEN, File Manager, SYSGEN, and Tape Reader) share
use of the DSM/SCM message header and report their EMS messages to DSM/SCM.
This section describes the content and meaning of the Event Management Service
(EMS) messages that the BACKUP, Tape Reader, and SYSGEN subsystems generate
that are returned by DSM/SCM.
BACKUP and Tape Reader Messages
0001
error-num
is the numeric value of the tape error that occurred. For possible values, see
Section 8, BACKUP Errors.
error-text
is a text translation of the error. For possible values, see Section 8, BACKUP
Errors.
Cause. The Tape Reader subsystem returned a tape error.
Effect. The effect varies depending on the specific error returned.
Recovery. Check the error code and text reported in the message. For more detailed
information, including recovery actions, see the Guardian Disk and Tape Utilities
Reference Manual .
