STARTSCM Messages
Cause. A file-system error occurred while INITENV was trying to open a required
internal file.
Effect. INITENV stops.
Recovery. For a description of the error code displayed in this message, see
Section 7, File-System Errors. Correct the file-system error; then rerun INITENV.
Cause. INITENV cannot start the processes required by DSM/SCM because they
were set up during the initialization process to run under a user ID other than the one
you used to log on.
Effect. INITENV cannot start the DSM/SCM processes.
Recovery. Log on under the user ID indicated in the message; then rerun INITENV.
Cause. Either INITENV has not been completed yet, or the INITSTAT file was purged.
Effect. DSM/SCM cannot start.
Recovery. If INITENV has not yet been run, run it. If the INITSTAT file was purged,
restore it from backup if possible.
Cause. INITENV was run but did not complete successfully.
Effect. DSM/SCM cannot start.
Recovery. Run INITENV to completion.
