Warning and Error Messages
Cause. You entered an invalid selection number.
Effect. DSM/SCM issues this message and waits for you to enter a valid selection.
Recovery. Depending on the screen, enter the correct information:
Cause. DSM/SCM is looking for an object it needs (such as an activity identification
number or file information) to process your request but cannot find it in the database.
Effect. DSM/SCM stops in a nonrestartable state.
Recovery. Exit DSM/SCM and review the EMS messages log. Then call your service
provider and provide all relevant information:
Descriptions of the problem and accompanying symptoms
Details from the messages generated
Supporting documentation such as the $ZPHI Event Management Service (EMS)
logs and trace files (if requested by your service provider)
If your local operating procedures require contacting the Global Customer Support
Center (GCSC), supply your system number and the numbers and versions of all
related products as well.
Cause. You pressed F4 to review EMS messages, but no DSM/SCM request is being
processed.
Effect. DSM/SCM does not display any EMS messages.
Recovery. Informational message only; no corrective action is needed. You can
review messages from this screen only if a request is still running.
Invalid selection number.

Main Menu from 1 through 5 or 9 select the activity
Target Menu-Select Target corresponding to one of the
targets shown
select the target system
Target Menu-Select Action of one of the items in the action
menu
select the activity
Enable Trace of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 9 enable Trace
Item not found in database.
No current activity for which to display events.
