Reinitializing DSM/SCM
Task 2: Reconfigure the Host Database
Only a host system contains a host database. If you reinitialized a target system, 
proceed to Task 3: Reconfigure the Target Database on page 5-34. 
Reinitializing a host system removes all the default host and target system information 
in the host database. You must reconfigure the host database to set the defaults for 
DSM/SCM operations such as user security, file transfer, and scheduling options. All 
target information that you update in the host database must also be updated in the 
target database. 
1. Add a planner ID. For more information, see Setting Security for Planners on 
page 5-8. 
2. Use the ZPHIHMI to configure the system profile for this system. For more 
information, see Updating the System Profile Information (ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI) 
on page 17-4.
3. Designate the volumes to use for the archive or scratch space on this system. For 
more information, see Updating the Volume Usage on page 17-11.  
4. Add database administrators for this host system. For more information, see 
Setting Security for Database Administrators on page 5-11.  
5. Update the Configuration Manager Profile. For more information, see 
Configuration Manager Profile on page 17-2.

Task 2.1: Set Planner Security 
___ Run the ZPHIHMI on the host system:
> Volume $DSMSCM.ZDSMSCM
> RUN STARTSCM
> RUN ZPHIHMI
___ Log on to the ZPHIHMI. Enter the dsms
cm-
user-id
, password, and 
press F1
___ Select Security Maintenance. Enter 3 and p
ress F1
___ Select Planner Security Maintenance. Enter 1 and p
ress F1
___ Type a planner user ID or alias to add. planner-user
or alias123 
___ Set the DSM/SCM tasks the planner can perform. All set to yes
___ Add planner. F7
___ After all planners are added, return to main HMI menu. Shift-F16
___ Exit the ZPHIHMI. Shift-F16
