Modifying the New Revision
Modifying the New Revision
You can modify the new software revision by adding or deleting new products or inputs,
individually or by group. These changes update that product’s display. SPRs are
added to the product. A new base version replaces the product.
For example, if you add two SPRs, ADD and ADG,
 to a software revision originally
containing the product PROD1 received on a G05.00 RVU, the display shows the base
version plus the applied SPRs:
PROD1 T9000G01 G05.00()+ADD+ADG
DSM/SCM cannot break out SPRs rolled into a new base component. In this example,
if the PROD1 SPRs were rolled into the next RVU for PROD1 (G05.01) and the
planner makes a new revision of the sof
tware by including this new PROD1 version,
DSM/SCM displays only the last SPR (base SPR) rolled into that version:
PROD1 T9000G01 G05.01(ADG)
To modify the new software revision, use these options in the Edit menu:
Select option Action
Select all Selects all products in the open input or revision.
Select matches Selects products in the software input or revision with matching
pro
ducts
 in the new software revision.
Select changes Selects products in the software input or revision with matching
pro
ducts
in the new software revision, if the products changed.
Copy matches
to
Selects products in the software input or revision with matching
products
in the new revision, then copy any changed matching
products to the new revision.
Select additions Selects products in the software input or revision that are not in the
new sof
tware revision.
Copy to Copies all selected
products in the source revision or software input to
the new revision:
Product
s in both the source and new revision are copied from the
source
 to the new revision.
Products only in the source are added to the new revision.
If you use this option for a full RVU, DSM/SCM assumes you are
migrating to a new RVU and warns
you that the current contents of the
new revision will be deleted and that all products listed in the target
system’s CUSTFILE will be copied to the new revision. You must
retain any products not on the SUT (such as third-party or customer
software or SPRs) to the new revision. If the SUT, which is being
copied to, has both the heap manager products (T8431 and T1269),
DSM/SCM also displays the Heap Manager Selection dialog box. This
feature is supported only on systems running G06.29 and later
G-series RVUs.
