Activation instructions for \configuration-name
DSM/SCM generates its general instructions based on configuration attributes. For
detailed information on migrating to this sof
tware configuration, see the release
documentation and softdocs. Note any site-specific tasks added by the planner.
1. Stop all applications. Keep OSS running.
Before activating new software, you must stop all running applications (except the
OSS environment) on the target system that contain or depend on files that are
being changed. The safest practice is to stop all applications, but there are
exceptions to this standard, depending on the software being configured:
If software that is audited by TMF or protected by Safeguard is being updated,
you need to leave those programs running. The planner should specify this in
the instructions. Running ZPHIRNM in PREVIEW mode displays a message if
TMF must be running to rename certain files.
Caution. This is an example. You must follow the exact instructions that you receive because
they are customized to your particular revision by DSM/SCM, and to your particular site or
system by the planner.
