DSM/SCM Configuration Troubleshooting
DSM/SCM Configuration Troubleshooting
INITENV does not change a site’s existing TMF configuration and does not detect
whether the audit trail is big enough. However, the configuration in use might not
be adequate. INITENV creates audit trails large enough for 118 megabytes of
audit.
When applying DSM/SCM to DSM/SCM, always use the original TSV.
If you configured INITENV to use a direct Winsock interface between the system and
the Planner Interface on your PC, INITENV looks for the LISTNER program on the
current SYSnn subvolume. If INITENV cannot find LISTNER, it prompts you to:
Use Winsock.
Either install TCP/IP, or press Ctrl-Y to exit INITENV. After installing TCP/IP, rerun
INITENV and specify that you will use a Winsock connection.
Continue even though the LISTNER program is not on the system.
INITENV asks if it can modify the DSM/SCM Winsock service by modifying the
SERVICES and PORTCONF files:
If you answer no, INITENV displays the steps you must manually perform and
skips the Winsock setup.
If you answer yes, INITENV prompts for the location of the SERVICES and
PORTCONF files. INITENV then prompts for the IP port for the DSM/SCM
Winsock service. You must specify the same port when you later run SETUP.
Before running STARTSCM, INITENV checks if a TCP/IP process is running:
INITENV then checks to see if a LISTNER process is running:
