Specifying a PARAM From the Planner Interface
Specifying a PARAM From the Planner
Interface
DSM/SCM uses a set of appropriate PARAMs when running a system generation
program. For G-series RVUs, you can pass a PARAM to a system generation program.
PARAMs specified from the planner interface are not persistent. Each new Build and
Apply starts with no PARAMs. For available PARAMs for system generation, refer to
the System Generation Manual for G-Series RVUs.
From the DSM/SCM Planner Interface:
1. Activate Tool ASSIGNS. From the Build/Apply Request dialog box, select
Tandem>Support info>Activate tool assign.
2. From the Build/Apply Request dialog box, click Tool ASSIGNS. DSM/SCM
displays the Tool Assigns dialog box.
3. Click Host.
4. Enter PARAM and the PARAM name in the first box near the bottom of the dialog
box. Unlike the ASSIGN statement, you must type PARAM before the PARAM
name. For example:
PARAM SYSGEN^LARGE^CONFIGURATION
5. Tab to the next box and enter the PARAM value. In this example:
YES
6. Click Add. (Do not click OK or press Enter until you click Add.)
7. Click OK.
8. Deactivate Tool ASSIGNS. From the Build/Apply Request dialog box, select
Tandem>Support info>Activate tool assign again.
Specifying a PARAM From PATHCOM
In most cases, you can use the defaults. You can add PARAMs to the appropriate
PATHWAY server. Specifying a PARAM from PATHCOM is persistent until INITENV or
PATHCOLD is run.
For example:
> PATHCOM $YPHI
= ALTER server,PARAM param-name param-value
Note. This procedure does not apply to H-series and J-series RVUs.
