audit
audit. An activity initiated by the operator at a target system that updates the target
database with the fingerprints of all the files in a selected set of target subvolumes
(TSVs).
backout. The DSM/SCM action of making the last configuration applied to the target system
inaccessible and replacing it with the previous configuration.
base SPR. Last SPR (if any) that was applied to the product before it was received into the
archive.
base version. The version of a specific product. A product’s base version usually changes
when significant additions are made to the product’s functionality. A base version
contains a complete set of files (in contrast to an SPR, which might contain only files
that have changed).
HP base product versions are distributed on a SUT and have a format of TnnnnXnn,
where Tnnnn is the product number and Xnn is the base version identifier; for
example, T9050D20 or T9612C30.
build. The construction of the activation package, including the running of system
generation if necessary. The inputs to the build are a software revision list of product
versions, the configuration file (CONFTEXT), the latest snapshot of the target system,
and the applicable DSM/SCM profiles.
built configuration. A configuration revision for which a system image and activation
package have been created.
cancel. A planner-initiated or operator-initiated action of stopping the processing of a
request.
check-out. A DSM/SCM internal component’s exclusive access to the DSM/SCM database.
CIIN file. A command file in the SYSnn subvolume that is read and executed by the startup
TA
CL process after system load if the CIIN file is specified in the CONFTEXT file and
enabled in the OSM client software. The CIIN file contains a limited set of commands
that reload the remaining processors and start TACL processes on the system console.
CLEANOSS Tool. A macro that removes DSM/SCM target work files from the OSS
environment. Failure to remove these files causes the next Apply to fail.
clone. A logical target designated as a member of a Clone Group, thus having an identical
software configuration to every other member of the Group.
clone group. A group of systems with the same processor type, designated to have
identical software configur
ation updates applied to them.
CLONE utility. A command line utility that performs tasks on all members of a Clone Group
at once, such as running ZPHIRNM against all the target systems in a Group.
