Required Hardware
Required Hardware
All Integrity NonStop systems and NonStop S-series systems include all the memory
and disk space required to run DSM/SCM. For DSM/SCM, you need a network
connection to:
Connect to a host from the Planner Interface (located on the PC).
Manage a remote target over an Expand network. You can also use a tape to
communicate between the host and the target. If there is no network configuration,
the target database must reside on the target system.
Required Software
HP uses DSM/SCM to install customer-ordered software on NonStop S-series servers
and Integrity NonStop servers:
The product DSVs have been copied from the SUT to the DSM/SCM archive
($AUDIT.ZPHI*).
The software configuration has been built, applied, and activated in the target
subvolumes ($SYSTEM.Z*).
For all types of NonStop systems that support DSM/SCM, these software products are
required.
DSM/SCM
All Integrity NonStop systems and NonStop S-series systems are shipped with
DSM/SCM installed.
Server-Based Software
You must be running the DSM/SCM T6031G01^ABP or a later product version to
manage an Integrity NonStop system from a NonStop S-series host system.
Client-Based Software
All Integrity NonStop and NonStop S-series systems come with the DSM/SCM client
already installed. To install a newer version, download the DSM/SCM client from the
site update tape (SUT).
Expand
To use an Expand network connection, Expand is required on both the target and host
systems. If you have a host or target system that will use only tape for communication,
Expand is optional and must be specifically licensed.
