ADD TAPEFILE Command
ADD TAPEFILE Command
ZMCS-CMD-ADD (super-group only)
ADD TAPEFILE manually catalogs a tape file from a tape created by BACKUP,
BACKCOPY, or other processes. The tape must belong to a pool and volume catalog
before you execute ADD TAPEFILE. If it does not, add it to a pool with ADD
TAPEVOLUME, specifying the tape’s status as SCRATCH.
ADD TAPEFILE changes the tape’s status to assigned in the volume catalog as it
catalogs the tape file in the file catalog.
ZMCS-TKN-COMMENT
is used to store descriptive text with a tape file identification in the tape file entry.
The text can be 1 through 80 characters long, composed of the letters A through Z,
numbers 0 through 9, and the special characters permitted for tape file IDs and
tape names. It also follows the same rules regarding double quotation marks,
asterisks, and question marks used as part of tape file IDs and tape names.
For more information on the use of special characters in descriptive text, see the
DSM/Tape Catalog Operator Interface (MEDIACOM) Manual.
ZMCS-MAP-ADD-TAPEFILE
contains fields that correspond to the MEDIACOM ADD TAPEFILE command. For
descriptions of these fields, see ZMCS Maps on page 4-18.
