ALTER MEDIADB Command
ALTER MEDIADB Command
ZMCS-CMD-ALTER (super-group only)
ALTER MEDIADB modifies volume and file catalog tables to contain information
necessary to implement LONGNAME.
ALTER MEDIADEFS Command
ZMCS-CMD-ALTER (super-group only)
ALTER MEDIADEFS is used primarily to configure various aspects of the DSM/TC
subsystem after installing DSM/TC, including:
The name of the default file catalog for the DSM/TC subsystem
The name of the default volume catalog for the DSM/TC subsystem
The name of the default pool for the DSM/TC subsystem
Whether to try more than once to automatically select an ACS scratch tape
Whether to use compression when writing data to a tape on an ACS tape drive
The default length of time a file entry is kept in the DSM/TC subsystem
The DSM/TC subsystem default values are used when the AUTOMATED,
COMPRESSION, FILECAT, POOL, RETENTION, or VOLCAT options of a
TAPECATALOG DEFINE are not used.
