ALTER TAPEVOLUME Command
ALTER TAPEVOLUME Command
ZMCS-CMD-ALTER (super-group only)
ALTER TAPEVOLUME changes the status of a tape in the volume catalog and its pool.
It does not change the status if the tape is ASSIGNED (the tape has unexpired files on
it), SELECTED (the tape is requested for use), or in USE (the tape is mounted on a
tape drive and data is being written to it).
This command does not change catalog information such as density, pool, volume
catalog name, and so on. To make these types of changes, you must delete the tape’s
entries in the volume catalog and pool with a DELETE TAPEVOLUME command and
catalog the tapes again with new attribute values, using ADD TAPEVOLUME.
ZMCS-MAP-ALTER-TAPEVOLUME
contains fields that correspond to the MEDIACOM ALTER TAPEVOLUME
command. For descriptions of these fields, see ZMCS Maps on page 4-18.
