EXPIRE TAPEFILE Command
EXPIRE TAPEFILE Command
ZMCS-CMD-EXPIRE (super-group only)
DSM/TC automatically runs a cleanup process every 24 hours to permanently erase
expired file catalog entries and revise the tape status in the volume catalog. (The tape
status is changed to RELEASED or SCRATCH when all associated tape file entries
either expire or are delete with DELETE TAPEFILE.)
EXPIRE TAPEFILE runs the cleanup process at any time you need to run it. While the
automatic run always cleans up all file catalogs in the system search list, you can
specify one file catalog, a subset of the file catalogs, or all the file catalogs in the
system search list with EXPIRE TAPEFILE.
ZMCS-MAP-DELETE-TAPEFILE
contains fields that correspond to the MEDIACOM DELETE TAPEFILE command.
For descriptions of these fields, see ZMCS Maps on page 4-18.
