INFO DISKFILE Command
INFO DISKFILE Command
ZMCS-CMD-INFO
INFO DISKFILE retrieves information stored in disk file entries. Disk file entries are
created when the CATALOGFILES option of BACKUP or BACKCOPY is used. These
entries are mainly used for recovery operations.
Disk file entries have a status of valid unless manually marked invalid by ALTER
DISKFILE. All valid entries represent files eligible for a recovery operation.
Invalid disk file entries remain in the catalog until the tape file entry they belong to
expires. To list invalid entries still in the catalog, use the STATUS INVALID option of
INFO DISKFILE.
All parameters for this command are optional. If this command is issued without
specifying a disk file name or any other options, information on all valid disk file entries
of the latest generation of all tape file entries in the default file catalog are returned.
ZMCS-MAP-INFO-DISKFILE
