Programmatic Interface to DSM/TC Functions
Programmatic Interface to DSM/TC Functions
Management application control of the DSM/TC subsystem takes place by using
Subsystem Programmatic Interface (SPI) procedures to communicate with the
DSM/TC programmatic process, MEDIASRV. The application uses the SPI procedures
to compose SPI command messages for the MEDIASRV process and to interpret the
responses received from the MEDIASRV process. MEDIASRV is the interface between
the management application and the other elements that make up the DSM/TC
subsystem.
Application Management Functions
To manage the various aspects of the DSM/TC subsystem, use commands supported
by the MEDIASRV programmatic interface. These commands are similar to those
issued through the interactive interface MEDIACOM. Use them to:
•
Define subsystem elements
•
Implement a new configuration
•
Start and stop the subsystem
•
Start and stop transaction processing
•
Display the status of DSM/TC objects
•
Control specific transactions
•
Implement changes in a configuration
