Error Numbers 6000 Through 6200

Cause. An error was returned while trying to read the tape drive.
Effect. The command does not execute.
Recovery. Analyze the error.

Cause. An error was returned while trying to write to the tape drive.
Effect. The command does not execute.
Recovery. Analyze the error.

Cause. The wrong tape was mounted.
Effect. The command does not execute.
Recovery. Mount the correct tape.
6021
Cause. A labeled tape was expected, but it was not mounted.
Effect. The command does not execute.
Recovery. Mount the appropriate labeled tape.

Cause. The tape mounted is unreadable.
Effect. The command does not execute.
Recovery. Mount the appropriate, readable tape.
**ERROR-6018** Tape drive READ error, error-number.
