This manual contains the error, warning, and informational messages that are returned
from the Distributed Systems Management/Tape Catalog (DSM/TC) environment:
All messages in this manual are presented with cause, ef

MEDIASRV/SPI Internal
Error Messages
Contains error messages that are returned to any console that
is executing a DSM/TC operator interface (MEDIACOM)
session. These messages are returned at the MEDIACOM
prompt after you try to complete a command. For programmatic
users, the Subsystem Programmatic Interface (SPI) buffer
contains the appropriate error codes that correspond to the
messages.
MEDIACOM accesses a file called MEDIAMSG, which contains
th
e syntax and help text for each of the messages. If
MEDIAMSG becomes unavailable, only the error number and
the access error are displayed.

Interface Messages
Contains the text portions of EMS messages from the Storage
Server Interface ($ZSSI) process.

Procedure Call Messages
Contains EMS tokens and text from the Remote Procedure Call
(RPC) facility.

Contains the text portions of EMS messages from $ZSVR, the
Tape Server Process.
