Event Message 4

Cause. CSI cannot successfully complete the request.
Effect. None.
Recovery. Informative message only; no corrective action needed.
Event Message 4
Event message 4 can report many different error codes, described in this subsection.
All instances of event message 4 are formatted like this:

Cause. The RPC call to the svctcp_create() function failed.
Effect. RPC TCP service is not created.
Recovery. For more information, see the DSM/Tape Catalog User’s Guide.

Cause. The call to the svc_register() function failed.
Effect. RPC TCP service is not registered.
Recovery. For more information, see the DSM/T
ape Catalog User’s Guide.
4 (8)
Cause. The cause is reported in a prior EMS message.
Effect. $ZSSI initiation failed.
Recovery. Depends on cause of error. Check the Recovery heading under the
appropriate EMS message.
Non-successful status returned from CSI.
Fatal fault: error-code-text
Create of RPC TCP service failed, Address: address, Port:
port
Can't register RPC TCP service.
Initiation of $ZSSI failed.
