Tape Server Process EMS Message Text
Cause. An application requested a tape volume residing in an excluded pool but did
not specify a DEVICE in the TAPECATALOG DEFINE.
Effect. The application request fails with file-system error 594. For more information
on this error, see Section 13, File-System OPEN Errors.
Recovery. Specify a DEVICE in the TAPECATALOG DEFINE and retry the
application.
pool
is the pool name.
Cause. The pool specified in the TAPECATALOG DEFINE is out of scratch tape
volumes that match the appropriate type.
Effect. The request cannot continue until more scratch tapes are made available.
Recovery. Add more scratch tapes of the correct type, or use the MEDIACOM
DELETE TAPEFILE command to free some tape volumes. $ZSVR automatically retries
the operation. The request continues automatically when more scratch tapes are made
available.
Cause. The FILESECT specified in the TAPECATALOG DEFINE is incorrect.
Effect. The application request fails with file-system error 594. For more information

Recovery. Correct the FILESECT attribute and retry th
e operation.
