volser
is the volume name.
fileid
is the file identification.
Cause. The VOLUME specified in the TAPECATALOG DEFINE was not used for the
specified FILEID.
Effect. The application read request fails with file-system error 594.
Recovery. Correct the VOLUME attribute of the TAPECATALOG DEFINE or let
DSM/TC automatically chose an appropriate tape volume.
volser
is the tape volume name.
Cause. The VOLUME specified in the DEFINE cannot be used. DSM/TC automatically
selects an alternate tape volume. If multiple VOLUMEs were specified in the DEFINE,
the next name is tried first.
Effect. The operation continues automatically.
Recovery. No recovery is necessary. However, if no alternate should be used, reject
the request.
