13 File-System OPEN Errors
Error 197
The error message in this section is returned to any console in response to a failed
access attempt on the SQL/MP database.

Cause. An unexpected SQL/MP database access error occurred when trying to
access a DSM/TC VOLCAT or FILECAT, or the DSM/TC configuration tables. DSM/TC
returned an SQL error to $ZSVR, so this error message is returned to the open of a
CLASS TAPE or CLASS TAPECATALOG DEFINE.
Effect. The attempted access fails.
Recovery. Get more information on the error from the $ZSVR events in the EMS log.
Errors 594 and 595
Errors 594 and 595 are file-system errors that are returned to the application in
response to a failed OPEN.
Both the error number and the error text are shown here, but only the error number is
returned to the console. For example, on the console you see:
**ERROR 594**
You must use the ERROR program to see the error text. For example:
> ERROR 594
A DSM/TC error was returned to $ZSVR. Refer to the EMS log
for detailed information.

Cause. A DSM/TC error was returned to $ZSVR.
Effect. The OPEN fails, and processing does not continue.
Recovery. Use the EMS log to analyze the specific file-system error. Correct the
problem and retry the operation.
**ERROR-197** An SQL error has occurred.
**ERROR-594** A DSM/TC error was returned to $ZSVR. Refer to
the EMS log for detailed information.
