Cause.  An attempt to alter the status of a tape volume between ASSIGNED and FULL 
failed because either the specified tape volume is in an incorrect state or the pool is not 
append capable.
Effect.  The requested operation terminates.
Recovery.  No recovery, the operation cannot occur.

Cause.  An attempt was made to perform a backup with the LONGNAME tape format 
to a tape volume that was already assigned the ARCHIVE tape format.
Effect.  The requested operation terminates.
Recovery.  Use a scratch tape or a tape volume assigned the LONGNAME tape format 
for this backup.

Cause.  An attempt was made to perform a backup with the ARCHIVE tape format to a 
tape volume that was already assigned the LONGNAME tape format.
Effect.  The requested operation terminates.
Recovery.  The requested operation terminates. Use a scratch tape or a t
ape volume 
assigned the ARCHIVE tape format for this backup.

Cause.  You used the MEDIACOM command ALTER MEDIADB, LONGNAME in 
Backup Restore 2. The MEDIADBM checked all existing FILE CATALOGs in the local 
Backup Restore for the database upgrade. If any of the local FILE CATALOG were 
**ERROR-630** Unable to alter the tape volume because the 
current status must be ASSIGNED or FULL, or is valid only for 
append capable pools.
**ERROR-635** A tape volume already ASSIGNED to a ARCHIVE 
Backup job was requested for a LONGNAME backup job.
**ERROR-636** A tape volume already ASSIGNED to a LONGNAME 
Backup job was requested for an ARCHIVE backup job.
