EXPIRE TAPEFILE Command
(Super Group Only)
DSM/TC automatically runs a clean-up process every 24 hours to permanently erase
expired file catalog entries and revise the tapes’ status in the volume catalog. (A tape’s
status is changed to released or scratch when all its associated tape file entries either
expired or were deleted with DELETE TAPEFILE.)
EXPIRE TAPEFILE runs the clean-up process each time you issue the command.
Although the automatic run always cleans up all file catalogs in the system search list,
you can specify one file catalog, a subset of the file catalogs, or all the file catalogs in
the system search list with EXPIRE TAPEFILE.
\node
\node.file-catalog-name
is the logical name of the file catalog to run the clean-up process against. Wild-
