FC Command
Because only a subset of file catalogs in the DSM/TC system is affected by the
command, the run date does not change. The clean-up process automatically runs
again at 8:00 p.m.
To run the clean-up process before 8:00 p.m. on all file catalogs in the DSM/TC
system:
MC> EXPIRE TAPEFILE \SKY
Because all file catalogs are affected by the command, the run date does change.
The clean-up process does not automatically run at 8:00 p.m. today. The next time
it runs is 8:00 p.m. tomorrow.
FC Command
FC lets you retrieve, edit, and execute a command line you previously entered during
the current session. FC is useful for correcting mistyped commands and for entering a
series of commands that differ by only a few characters.
FC displays the specified command line and prompts you to make your changes on the
next blank line. You can enter FC subcommands (such as R, I, or D) on the new blank
line to replace, insert, or delete characters. After you enter the FC subcommands,
pressing RETURN instructs FC to:
1. Make the changes you specified
2. Redisplay the command line as modified
3. Prompt for more changes
FC
entered with no line number or text string, specifies that the last command line in
the command history buffer is to be displayed.
linenum
is a positive integer that specifies the number of the command line in the history
buffer that you want to retrieve.
-linenum
is a negative integer that specifies the number of the command line to be retrieved
relative to the current line number.
