INFO TAPELABEL Command (Super Group Only)
The next three items apply to a file on the tape. If more than one file is on the tape,
only the first one is used for reporting purposes.
Format of detail reports
The detail report format for ANSI, BACKUP or TMF labeled tapes is a vertical list of
items, as Figure 2-6
shows. Report information is taken from the tape’s label.
If a user label is present, INFO TAPELABEL retrieves the information from that
label as well and presents it after the listed label items. The user information is not
formatted into separate items.
label Type of tape label. The value of label can be:
ANSI ANSI standard label
BACKUP BACKUP label
IBM IBM-MVS standard label
OMITTED No label tape
TMF TMF label
tname Name of the tape.
owner Owner of the tape.
level Level of tape label. This item is not included in the report for IBM-MVS labeled
tapes. The value of level can be:
A TMF label created with software earlier than the C-
series
B BACKUP
T TMF
3 ANSI level 3
4 ANSI level 4
tfile Name of the tape file.
cdate Date the tape label was written.
expire Date and time that tfile expires. This item’s value is SCRATCH if no files are
on the tape or if all the files have expired.
