INFO TAPEVOLUME Command
INFO TAPEVOLUME
entered without a tape name and the other options, retrieves information for all
types of tapes in the default pool of the default volume catalog. A brief report is
sent to your current default output file (usually your home terminal).
tape-name
is the name of the tape as written in the tape label. Wild-card characters are
permitted in this name. When tape-name is not given, all entries in the volume
catalog are used.
When seeking information for several tapes, you can give multiple tape names
rather than entering INFO TAPEVOLUME for each tape. A maximum of 100 names
is permitted.
BRIEF | DETAIL
specifies how much information you want retrieved. BRIEF, the default, retrieves
less information than DETAIL. For report formats, see Considerations on
page 2-134.
OUT out-file
specifies where the report is displayed or written. You can name a disk file or a
device, such as a printer or terminal. If not given, the information is sent to your
current default output file (usually your home terminal)
POOL pool-name
is the logical name of the pool in which tape-name is cataloged. Wild-card
characters are permitted in this name. The default is the name set by the POOL
command.
This parameter is required if no value is available from the MEDIADEFS defaults or
previously set as a MEDIACOM session default (see the ENV Command on
page 2-89).
