RECOVER DISKFILE Command
If the specified outcommand-file exists, then the new text will be appended to
the end of the file. The resulting file will not be suitable for use as an OBEY file
because it would attempt to add the same DEFINE twice.
OVERRIDE { ON | OFF }
determines whether approval is necessary for the RECOVER DISKFILE command
to continue after it has located the catalog information for disk-file-name.
ON
No approval is necessary. After RECOVER DISKFILE determines which
backup tape or tapes to use, it executes a RESTORE run command to copy
the disk file or files from tape to disk.
OFF
Approval is necessary. After RECOVER DISKFILE determines which backup
tape or tapes to use, it displays the catalog information for you to approve
before executing a RESTORE run command to copy the disk file or files from
tape to disk. The default is OFF.
oss-mx-restore-option
is a RESTORE option. You can use any or all of the RESTORE options with
RECOVER DISKFILE. Only job-options and config-options may be specified. If
both are specified, job-options must precede config-options. No run-options may
be specified. For more information, see the Backup and Restore 2.0 Manual.
IN restore-in-file
names a disk file containing RESTORE options. You can use any or all of the
RESTORE options with RECOVER DISKFILE. For descriptions of these options,
see the Guardian Disk and Tape Utilities Reference Manual.
This parameter can be specified instead of the restore-option parameter, then
would refer to a file that contains all the wanted restore-options. This
parameter cannot be specified in conjunction with the restore-option
parameter.
restore-option
is an option of RESTORE. You can use any or all of the RESTORE options with
RECOVER DISKFILE. For descriptions of these options, see the Guardian Disk
and Tape Utilities Reference Manual.
RECOVER DISKFILE does not check the spelling or validity of restore-option.
If you misspell restore-option or a RECOVER DISKFILE option, those names
and any associated values become part of the RESTORE run command that
RECOVER DISKFILE creates. Options that RESTORE cannot identify when it
executes cause an error condition.
