STATUS TAPEDRIVE Command
tstat Status of tape in the catalog. The value of tstat can be:
ASSIGNED Tape contains an unexpired file.
BAD Tape is defective and should not be used.
INUSE Data is being read from or written to the
tape.
RELEASED All files on the tape have expired, but the
tape cannot be used as a scratch tape.
SELECTED Tape has been chosen by DSM/TC to satisfy a
tape mount request.
SCRATCH All files on the tape have expired, and the
tape can be used as a scratch tape.
pool Name of the pool in which tname is cataloged.
vcat Name of the volume catalog that owns pool.
$proc Name of process opening the tape file.
c,p Processor and process identification number of $proc.
i/o The tape’s input or output status. This data appears only if the value of dstat is
in use and the value of open is lp. The value of i/o can be:
EXTEND Add data to last file on the tape
IN Read data from tape
IN/OUT Read data from tape or write data to tape
OUT Write data to tape
openex Tape exclusion mode (taken from OPEN flag of opening process). The value of
openex can be:
EXCLUSIVE Exclusive access (for BLP and LP opens)
PROTECTED Protected access
SHARED Shared access (for NL opens only)
open Tape label processing mode. This item appears only if the value of dstat is
INUSE. The value of open can be:
BLP Tape opened for bypass label processing
LP Tape opened for labeled processing (for
ANSI, IBM, BACKUP, or TMF system label)
NL Tape opened for no label processing
UNREADABLE Tape label in nonstandard format or
unreadable
comment The text in the MOUNTMSG attribute of the DEFINE for this tape file. This item
does not appear if the MOUNTMSG attribute was not used.
