Tape Names
When you use Group B characters in a tape file name, enclose the name in double
quotation marks in the command syntax.

The last two names contain Group B special characters. To specify them in command
syntax:
"OUTSTANDING ACCTS_(3RD QUARTER ONLY)"
"CORPORATE&FIELD_EMPLOYEES"
Tape Names
A tape name, referred to as tape-name or new-tape-name in command syntax
(see the ADD TAPELABEL command in Section 2), is the name assigned to a tape
reel or cartridge. This name is written in the VOL1 label of a standard tape label and
can be from 1 through 6 characters long.
Tape names are composed of any combination of these characters (the exception is
that BACKUP and BACKCOPY do not accept special characters in a tape name):
Letters a through z, in uppercase and lowercase
All tape names are not case sensitive on NonStop Kernel systems. All tape names
are written to the tape as uppercase.
Numbers 0 through 9 (A name composed of all numbers is allowed.)
Group A special characters:
space
,comma
( right parenthesis
) left parenthesis
; semicolon
& ampersand
! exclamation mark > greater-than sign
‘ single quotation mark = equal sign
% percent sign ? question mark
