Managing Disk File Entries
Managing Disk File Entries
Usually, catalog entries for disk files of backup tapes are created, maintained, and
deleted by the DSM/TC system. However, sometimes you need to manually change
the status of a disk file entry or retrieve catalog information for an entry. Use the
commands in Table 2-4 for these occasional operations.
Use the RECOVER DISKFILE command to copy a file from a backup tape to disk by
invoking the RESTORE utility on behalf of the user.
Managing Tape Drives
Use the commands in Table 2-5 for setting and displaying the label processing mode of
a tape drive (NLCHECK for no label processing and BLPCHECK for bypass label
processing). These commands also associate a NonStop Kernel tape drive name with
a tape library drive and display information for a tape library drive.
