ACCEPT TAPEMOUNT Command

You need not enter the commands this way. Shorter command examples appear on

one line:

ACCEPT TAPEMOUNT Command

ACCEPT TAPEMOUNT lets an application use the tape drive it requests when:



The tape drive request is for bypass label processing (BLP) mode on a tape drive

with the BLPCHECK option set to on. (For information on setting the BLPCHECK

option, see ALTER TAPEDRIVE Command (Super Group Only) on page 2-53.)



The tape drive request is for no label processing (NL) mode on a tape drive with

the NLCHECK option set to on. (For information on setting the NLCHECK option,

see ALTER TAPEDRIVE Command (Super Group Only) on page 2-53.)

ACCEPT TAPEMOUNT is also used when a mounted tape cannot be read. This

problem results from an uninitialized tape or a tape written at a density that the drive

does not support. If it is appropriate to use the tape, ACCEPT TAPEMOUNT gives

permission to use it as an unlabeled tape.

\node.message-number

is a number assigned by $ZSVR to the message of the requested tape drive. This

number appears with a STATUS TAPEMOUNT command. Include \node if the

tape drive is not on your current default node.

Considerations



NL or BLP processing

If an application requires NL or BLP tape processing, as specified in a

TAPECATALOG or TAPE DEFINE with the LABELS attribute, the tape drive can be

set up to accept the request automatically, rather than to gain permission through

ACCEPT TAPEMOUNT. For more information, see the ALTER TAPEDRIVE

Command (Super Group Only) on page 2-53.



Labeled tape processing

If an application requires labeled tape processing, as specified in a

TAPECATALOG or TAPE DEFINE with the LABELS attribute, the request is

automatically accepted when the proper tape is mounted. An ACCEPT

TAPEMOUNT command is unnecessary.
