ALTER MEDIADEFS Command (Super Group or
SECURITY-MEDIA-ADMIN Only)
In addition to configuring system defaults, creating system search lists, and setting the
tape level support, use ALTER MEDIADEFS to confirm that the automatic clean-up
process can run after an error condition occurs.
\command-node
is the name of the node that ALTER MEDIADEFS changes apply to.
ABENDRETENTION { number-of-days | PERMANENT }
is the number of days past the creation date to keep a catalog entry for an
incomplete tape file. (An incomplete tape file results when an application
abnormally ends while writing data to a tape.)
number-of-days
is a number in the range 0 through 9999. A value of 0 erases the incomplete
tape file on the next clean-up. The default is 1, which erases the incomplete
tape file on the next clean-up at least one day in the future. The entry is kept
until the specified number of days elapses and it is erased when the next
EXPIRE TAPEFILE command is issued or the next automatic expiration
occurs, whichever comes first.
