FILECAT \node.file-catalog-name
is the logical name of the file catalog to use when it is not given in a
TAPECATALOG DEFINE. This also becomes the session default name for a file
catalog when one is not explicitly set with a FILECAT command. Include \node
when the file catalog is not on your current default node.
LEVEL { COMPATIBLE | MEDIACAT | NOCATALOG | UNLABELED |
INTEGRATED | TPTM | TPTMCOMPATIBLE }
sets the level of tape support on the node. For more information, see
Considerations on page 2-44.
COMPATIBLE
Labeled and unlabeled tape processing is permitted. At this level, DSM/TC is
used at your discretion with a TAPECATALOG DEFINE with CATALOG ON. To
bypass the catalog, a TAPE DEFINE or TAPECATALOG with CATALOG OFF
is used.
MEDIACAT
Labeled and unlabeled tape processing is permitted. TAPECATALOG
DEFINEs with CATALOG ON are the only DEFINEs that work for tape
processing. At this level, a third-party tape management system can also be
running. However, labeled tape operations continue whether a third-party tape
management system is running or not.
NOCATALOG
Labeled and unlabeled tape processing is permitted. Only TAPE DEFINEs and
TAPECATALOG DEFINEs with the CATALOG attribute set to OFF are allowed.
UNLABELED
Only unlabeled tape processing is permitted. TAPE or TAPECATALOG
DEFINEs are not permitted.
INTEGRATED
At this level, the third-party tape management system is used in parallel with
DSM/TC. Labeled tape processing is allowed only if the third-party tape
management system is running. TAPECATALOG DEFINEs with CATALOG ON
are the only DEFINEs that work for tape processing at this level.
